Express Entry

The Canadian Express Entry program is a comprehensive and streamlined immigration pathway designed for skilled workers. Candidates are evaluated on a points-based system based on several factors. Successful candidates will receive an invitation to apply for permanent residency, enabling them to both live and work in Canada, and positively contribute to Canada’s economic growth.

Application Process:

Eligible applicants are encouraged to create and submit and online profile – this is known as an Expression of Interest (EOI). This submission is made into the Express Entry Pool under one of the three (3) federal immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSWP). Lastly, the highest ranking candidates will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence within ninety (90) days. The government also currently aims to process completed permanent residence applications within six (6) months.

Express Entry candidates are ranked by their profiles within a points-based system, the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

Individuals are ranked on the following selection factors:

• skills

• education

• language ability

• work experience

• other selection factors
